Lithium-ion Battery Recycling

India’s transition towards electric mobility, renewable energy storage, and advanced electronics is driving the demand for Lithium-Ion batteries and critical minerals. As the country strengthens domestic capabilities across the battery materials value chain, recycling has emerged as a strategic priority to reduce import dependency and secure sustainable access.

The critical minerals recycling and recovery sector is witnessing rapid growth and investment, supported by policies such as the National Critical Mineral Mission and the Government of India’s dedicated INR 1,500 crore incentive program.

NAN-Silox GreenMet Private Limited

NAN-Silox GreenMet Private Limited is an equally owned joint venture between N.A.N. GreenMet and Silox Belgium, through its Indian subsidiary Silox Specialities Private Limited. It aims to establish India’s leading facility to transform spent battery waste into high-value downstream material intermediates and recover other critical metals.

It is setting up an integrated facility at Industrial Park Naidupeta at Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) through land allocation and policy-led industrial incentives.

Processing Capabilities/ Advanced Processing Solutions/ Core capabilities

Designed with advanced and environmentally responsible processing technologies, the proposed facility will operate with a planned capacity of up to 40,000 TPA and includes:

  • Mechanical shredding and material separation
  • Black mass processing
  • Hydrometallurgical recovery of critical minerals
  • Precursor Cathode Active Material (pCAM) recovery
  • Cathode Active Material (CAM) recovery

Rare Earth Magnets Manufacturing

Rare earth permanent magnets are at the core of the technologies powering the future- from electric vehicles, renewables to aerospace, defense, robotics, and automation. With India’s rapid transition towards sustainable and advanced manufacturing ecosystems, demand for high-performance NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) magnets is expected to grow substantially over the coming decade.

Despite this rapidly increasing demand, India continues to rely heavily on imports, with global supply concentrated in China. However, with one of the world’s largest rare earth element reserves located across its eastern and southern coastal regions, India is uniquely positioned to develop a self-reliant and integrated ecosystem.

Aligned with India’s broader critical minerals and advanced manufacturing ambitions, the project strengthens the objectives of the Government of India’s ₹7,280 crore Rare Earth Permanent Magnet (REPM) Manufacturing Scheme and the National Critical Minerals Mission.

N.A.N. MagneTech

N.A.N. GreenMet has established N.A.N. MagneTech to build one of India’s first integrated EV-grade NdFeB magnet manufacturing capacity. Envisioned as a fully integrated oxide-to-magnet value chain, it will integrate rare earth oxide processing, alloy manufacturing, magnet fabrication, and recycling capabilities, that will be a strategically-located coastal facility with resource and export access. The project will be executed in a phased manner with a long-term manufacturing target of 10,000 TPA.

Technology & Global Collaboration

N.A.N. MagneTech is partnering with leading Japanese technology providers, globally recognized equipment manufacturers, and premier research institutions across India and Japan.

The project is supported by an experienced global leadership and technical advisory team, including:

  • Dr. John Ormerod — Globally recognized authority in rare earth magnet manufacturing and Chairman of the Technology Board
  • Dr. Gaurav Shukla — Deputy CEO with extensive experience across the rare earth permanent magnet ecosystem
  • Dr. Masato Sagawa — Inventor of NdFeB magnets and pioneer of rare earth magnet manufacturing technologies
  • Dr. Deependra Singh — Senior expert in rare earth supply chains and mineral processing

Precision Explosives

India’s next phase of mining and tunnelling infrastructure is reshaping the demand for safer, smarter, and more efficient blasting solutions. This is driving significant demand for precision blasting technologies such as bulk emulsions, electronic detonators, and advanced initiation systems that enable greater operational control, improved fragmentation and safety, with lower environmental impact.

NAN Enaex Private Limited

NAN Enaex Private Limited is being established as an equal equity partnership between N.A.N. GreenMet and Enaex S.A.. The business will deliver industrial explosives and blasting solutions tailored to the evolving needs of India’s mining, infrastructure, and tunnelling sectors.
The venture combines the global expertise of Enaex S.A., a leading industrial explosives company with over 100 years of experience and operations across 40+ countries and N.A.N.’s industrial capabilities. The facility will have a planned capacity of approximately 100 KTPA of bulk emulsions and 700,000 electronic detonators annually.
